Aline died at her home following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, Bob Brewer of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Dan Boland of Moneta, Va.; mother, Virginia Jones and a grandson, Patrick Boland.
She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Jones and leaves behind an extended family.
Employed by the school system for 27 years, Aline was a secretary/treasurer for Edwin A. Alderman Elementary School. An active member of the North Carolina Association of Educational Office Personnel, she served as president of the local Chapter, District 6, and on the State level over the years. Aline has been recognized for her outstanding service and has been called a "shining example" by her N.C.A.E.O.P. friends.
A member of the Florida Street Baptist Church, Aline formerly taught Sunday School in the youth department and served the church in many other capacities. In Aline's lifetime she impacted many lives through her soaring spirit, encouraging nature and loving heart. She was a true example that one life can make a measurable difference.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hanes-Lineberry, Sedgefield Chapel and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Aline V. Brewer Scholarship Fund, c/o Joan Miller, Jessie Wharton Elementary School; or to the Florida Street Baptist Church.
