Jeff, as he was affectionately known, attended schools in Oakland. He received his education from Woodier Elementary, Frick Jr. High, and Fremont, High Schools. He grew up learning skilled trades like plumbing and carpentry. In fact, his carpentry products were so well made, that he sold a number of pieces while still in high school.
Jeff had a zest, wry sense of humor and extensive film knowledge. Jeff freely shared his unique, infectious laugh, with all who knew him. As an avid movie buff, he would test your knowledge by quoting movie lines, and asking, "Who said that ?" Jeff often expressed his love of great food, and could tell you where all the best restaurants in the bay area were located.
Jeff had a long career in public service, working in the education, healthcare, and transportation industries. He met Linda McGee, and they got married on February 3, 1984. Jeff loved his family, and he adored his grandchildren. He was known for being playful, and giving creative nicknames to his loved ones.
He departed this life surrounded by his family at home, on May 3, 2016. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Nat and Rena Stone, and four of his siblings, Diane, Marvin, Christina and Jacqueline.
He leaves to cherish his memory, His wife Linda, three children: Michael, Antoinette, and Jeffery Jr. as well as two stepchildren Jasmine and Jermaine. Four grandchildren: Tia, Lemihai, Lamonte and Leilani. Five sisters: Verna, Natdell, Kimberly, Gloria and Simone. One Brother: Dexter, two aunts: Gertie and Mollie, his lie-long best friend Lenvester Clinton, and a host of other relatives and friends.
