Friday night at home. He had been in failing health for more than six
months.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Peter Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Mishicot, the Rev. David Wargull officiating. Burial
will be in Mishicot Public Cemetery.
Mr. Assmann was born in the Town of Mishicot, 1871, son of the late
August and Catherine Kaple Assmann. He married Mary Gesser, January 23,
1905. She died in August of 1955. For more than 25 years, Mr. Assmann
owned and operated a threshing outfit. He served as town assessor for
16 years and for 21 years, was on the Pleasant View School Board.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John Kobes and Miss Alice of Rt. 1,
Mishicot; three sons, Ralph and Alfred of Rt. 1, Mishicot, and Florian
of Elm Grove, Wis.; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, until 11 a.m. Monday
when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in
state until time of service.
