He was the son of Rosella Haggett (a native of Ireland) who died 18 May 1898 in San Francisco, at the age of 82.

"Haggett -- In this city, January 3, 1913, George W., dearly beloved husband of Ruby E. Haggett, and devoted father of Pansy Haggert Kennedy and George W. Haggett Jr, a native of San Francisco. A member of California Parlor No. 1, N. S. G. W.; Golden West Lodge No. 322, I. O. O. F., and Veteran Police... Interment Greenlawn cemetery."
