by his family.
He was born May 25, 1932, in Two Rivers, to the late Clarence R. and Ella Gloe
Becker. John attended St. Mary's Grade School and St. Boniface grade School and
graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. John married the former Patricia M.
Holschback on December 17, 1953, in Manitowoc. He served his country in the
United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He began working at an early age for his
father who started Becker Ornamental Iron, Inc. in 1929. He later became an owner
and operator of the family business, and retired in June of 1994, but remained
involved in the business for many years. He was a member of the Lincoln High
School Boy's Club of 1950, affectionaely known to John as the O.F. club.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children (private); eighteen grandchildren,
seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters
(private) and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition
to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Priscilla P. Becker,
his brothers Clarence and August Becker, and by a special cousin, Francis Miller.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at
St. Isidore the Farmer, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Tisch
Mills Site with the Reverend Dennis Drury officiating, assisted by Deacon Robert
Pribek. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the church, until the
time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.
The Becker family would like to give special thanks to Dr. (private) "the best
doctor in the world" the staff of Cardiology Associates of Green Bay, and the
entire nursing staff at Bellin Hospital, for their special care given to John
during his illness. Your kindness will always be remembered.
