Helen S. Hanson

Helen Hanson, 91, passed away early afternoon on May 22, 2021. Fortunately, her first grandson, Drew and wife Savannah, and dear friend Connie Zimmerman, were present to say goodbye.

Helen was a proud Montanan who was born in Lewistown, Montana, on July 1, 1929. She was born to parents Claire and Thayer Stevens. On June 28, 1947, she was joined in marriage with Harry Hanson. Helen and Harry enjoyed 68 wonderful years together until his passing in 2015.

Helen is survived by her son, Irv (Elena) Hanson. She is also survived by three grandsons, Drew (Savannah), Aaron (Annette) and Levi (Mayu). She is also survived by her sister, Marianne (Al) Fontana, and three great-grandsons.

Helen leaves many friends and numerous nieces and nephews who remember her as a genuine and caring presence in their lives.

She was actively involved in numerous charitable organizations, which included volunteer work at Friendship House in the 1960s, serving underprivileged youth.

Many thanks for the caregiving she received at the Springs at Grand Park.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Viewing will begin at 12 noon, prior to services.
