Lillian Ruth Blomquist was born July 1, 1910 to Carl and Emily (Holmquist) Blomquist in Galena Township, Martin County, Minnesota. She attended county school Districts #62 and later was a 1928 Graduate of Triumph-Monterey High School. She furthered her education at the Fairmont Normal School where she earned a certificate to teach school. Lil taught in Districts #62, #67, and #84. In September 24, 1931, she was united in marriage to Hjalmer Anderson in her parents home in Galena Township. After their marriage they farmed in Cedar Township and also in Galena Township until retiring in 1973. In 1993 they moved to the Halter Square Apartments in Trimont, Minnesota. Hjalmer died on September 18, 1999. In January 2003 she moved into the Trimont Health Care Center. Lil was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Trimont serving as treasure, president, secretary of the Ladies Aid, taught Sunday School, Release Time classes and served in the Church Choir. She greatly enjoyed crocheting, fishing, reading, playing cards, visiting and watching the Minnesota Twins.

Lil died on Thursday morning, October 26, 2006 at the Trimont Health Care Center in Trimont, Minnesota at the age of ninety-six years.

Her two sons, Daryl Anderson and his wife, Dee, of rural Sherburn, Minnesota and Larry Anderson and his wife, Darlene, of Excelsior, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Rodney Anderson and his wife, Jane; Denise Gaalswyk and her husband, Mark; Dawn Lillevold and her husband, Paul; Kelly Holm and her husband, Jeff; eleven great-grandchildren, Cierra and Janaya , Brady, Jenna and Christopher; Jackie, Jeff, Courtney and Cameron; Taylor and Austin; sister-in-law, Elaine Anderson of Trimont, Minnesota; brother-in-law, John V. Anderson and his wife, Dorothy, of Dunnell, Minnesota; many close nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Lil is preceded in death by her husband, Hjalmer; granddaughter, Cheri Anderson; four brothers, George, Erick, Emil and Harold Bloomquist; sister, Ida Bloomquist; and other relatives.
