be 9:30 am Monday at Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers and at 10 am
at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The Rev. Anthony Betley will officiate
and burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
Mr. Benzinger was born at Mishicot, Oct. 31, 1878, son of the late Fridolin and
Veronica Hess Benzinger. He attended the Saxonburg graded school and for a number
of years was employed constructing railroad flat cars at Milwaukee. He then
settled on the home farm at Rt. 1, Mishicot, retiring about 20 years ago. For a
number of years he was manager of Saxonburg Cheese Factory. He was a member of
Holy Cross Catholic Church and Holy Name Society of the church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Katherine Leiterman, whom he married at
Alverno, Wis., Nov. 15, 1904; three daughters, Mrs. Wallace Hansen of Green Bay
and Mrs. James Brugnone and Mrs. Ruth Billings of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons,
Walter of Los Angeles and Raymond of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Eis of
Rt. 1, Two Rivers and Mrs. Theresa Gruman of Laona; 14 grandchildren and a great
grandchild.
Friends may call at the funeral chapels after 3 pm Sunday where the rosary will
be recited at 8 pm Sunday.
