VietnamDonnie J. Allen went home to be with the Lord April 19, 2013. He was at his home with his family by his side.
Donnie graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1967. He was a multi-sport athlete who especially enjoyed his time spent playing Falcons baseball.
He was drafted into the Army in 1968, serving in Vietnam for the Big Red 1 Infantry Division. Before his honorable discharge in 1970, he became a highly decorated soldier.
After returning home from the Army, Donnie worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He eventually followed one of his interests and pursued a career as administrator/curator of the Favell Museum. However, he found his true calling when he opened the White Pelican Antique Mall with his partner and wife, Donna. He married her in 1970 and they were able to spend 43 wonderful years together.
His success in business and life can be directly attributed to his understanding and care for people. Life was always an adventure and he lived it with passion. His passion for the outdoors was only overshadowed by his love for his family.
Survivors are his wife Donna; son and daughter-in-law Brandon and Brooke and grandson Ryder; sister-in-law and husband Jackie and Steve Heryford and family; brother and sister-in-law Randy and Terry Allen and their family; uncle George and family and numerous cousins.
