Deamon R. (Dee) Underwood was a son of Randall Monroe Underwood and Laura J. Darnell, both buried here in Otter Creek cemetery.

He married Sarah Madeline (Mattie) Dotson on 27 Sep 1943. She had been married twice before.

Mr. Dee Monroe Underwood, 79, died at a Danville Hospital at noon Saturday, Feb. 25. Funeral services were conducted at the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church Monday, Feb. 27, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Garland Skaggs in charge and burial was in Otter Creek Cemetery. Lyon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Underwood lived in the Social Band Community on Star Route, Campbellsville. He was born in Green County, Sept. 12, 1887, son of Laurie Darnell and Randall Underwood. He was a member of the Otter Creek Church. He was married to Sarah M. Caulk in June of 1947, who survives him. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edna (Charlie) Bryant, Louisville; two step-daughters, Mrs. Rufus Price, Star Route and Mrs. Hazel Traxter, Toledo, Ohio; one step-son, Clifford Caulk, Louisville; and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Brewer, Buffalo, Ky.; one grandson and one granddaughter. Pallbearers were Charles and Winfred Skaggs, Rufus Price, Earl Beams, Garnett Durham and Ralph Stillwater.
