Spurgeon Dobbins Beir was born June 9, 1879 in West Chester, Tuscarawas Co., Ohio the son of Addison R Beir and Ermina Hillyer. He died Aug 26, 1948 age 69 in Miami, Florida, of 3030 Washington Blvd., Cleveland Hts., Ohio. He and his brother, Frank worked for Chicago Great Western Railroad. Spurgeon was 5 ft 9 inches tall with blue eyes and dark brown, later gray hair.

His wife, Anna "Annie" V. Beir born Oct 1879 in New York, the daughter of Adam and Alice Anna Birckel, died Aug. 31, 1962 in Waterloo, N.Y., formerly of Cleveland, Ohio.

Annie's funeral was Tuesday, Sept 4, 1962 at Knollwood Mausoleum SOM Center Rd.. Mayfield Hts., Ohio, arrangements by Millard Son & Raper Funeral Home. Spurgeon's funeral was Thursday, Aug. 26, 1948 at Daniels Funeral Home, 15800 Detroit Ave., Cleveland. Possibly he was buried in Knollwood Cemetery.
