Fred (Bud) Blatter, 62, of Village of Mishicot, died Monday in Memorial Hospital,
Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran
Church Mishicot. The Rev. Herbert Kesting will officiate and burial will be in
Mishicot Public Cemetery.
Mr. Blattler was born May 25, 1916, in Two Rivers son of the late John and Anna
Mahnke Blattler. He married Murrell Gates Nov. 1, 1941, in St. Peter Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Mishicot. He owned and operated the Blattler's Market in
Mishicot from 1938 to 1965, and had been a car salesman with the Hamachek Company
and Pietroski Inc. of Manitowoc. He was a member of Mishicot Sportsman's Club and
a charter member of Mishicot Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Shirley
of Mishicot, Norman (Buddy) and Diane of Mishicot and William and Cathy of
Mountain View, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Ross (Louise) Wright of Silver Spring,
Md., Mrs. Albert (Viola) Shimon of Whitelaw and Mrs. Marie Koeser of Two Rivers
and four grandchildren, Linda, Cheryl, Randall and Steven. A brother and a sister
preceded him in death.
Friends may call in Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, after 5 p.m. Wednesday and
in the church after 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of service. The casket will
remain closed. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church
memorial fund.
