Born May 29, 1921, in Green Valley to David Wesley and Ruth Ellison Kettering, he married Zelma E. Boyer on Oct. 10, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo.
She survives along with his mother of Pekin; two daughters, Barbara Burger of Pekin and Cheryl Kettering of Elgin; one brother, Joe of Cleveland; and two sisters, Pauline Thomas and Elaine Davis, both of Pekin. His father preceded him in death.
He was a truck driver at Caterpillar Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1975.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
