Vera was born to Joseph Frank and Gertrude Ruehl Benesh in Dayton, Ohio in 1915, one of four girls in the family. On 25 Nov 1937 she married Robert Edward Blitz. In the 1950s Robert was working as a salesman for Warner Brothers Pictures. Perhaps a coincidence, but in 1930 Vera's sister, Marcella, had been working as a stenographer for an "art film co." in Cleveland. The family's neighbor at the time, William Miller, was also working with a film corporation.
