The couple had two children: Violet Joyce (Willis) Pellman (1919-2010) and John Raymond Willis (1920-1992).
It does not appear that Winifred was employed outside the home during her marriage. She undoubtedly shared much of the work (as reported by her daughter) in managing the farm she and Leonard owned in Laindon, Essex during the 1920's. She also endured the Blitz in 1940 and 1941, during which a bomb destroyed a neighbour's home immediate behind hers, killing all but one member of that family. She never remarried after her husband's death in 1941.
Although her life was filled with hardship, deprivation, and tragedies, she is well remembered as a kind, generous, and cheerful woman.
