"Mrs. Amanda Emmons, 80, died at 1:15 Wednesday morning, at the home of her son, G.V. Emmons on No. Fulton Street, the result of a fall, in which she sustained a broken hip, six weeks ago.
Mrs. Emmons was born in Philadelphia, April 23, 1851 [sic]. In 1872 she was united in marriage to Chas. H. Emmons. To this union there was [sic] born three children, G.V. Emmons of this city, Jessie (Mrs. J. Earl Else) of Portland, Oregon; and Lydia Emmons of Santa Cruz, Calif., who survive. There are also three sisters, Emma White of Philadelphia, Mrs. J. H. Russell of St. Louis, and Mrs. Mary Gano of Tacoma, Wash.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon." (Dec. 17, 1931, Waupaca County Republican, Waupaca, WI)

In another obituary The Post-Crescent of Appleton, Outagamie County reported, "The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Holly Funeral home with interment in Lakeside cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Soper was in charge." (Dec. 18, 1931, p 12)
