Portsmouth - Ralph Donald Bryant Jr., 38, passed away January 29, 2014. Ralph treasured his family and friends and was especially close to his mother. He received his formal education from the Portsmouth, Virginia public schools, Model Secondary School for the Deaf (Washington, D.C. – Gallaudet College campus) and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (Rochester Institute of Technology campus). Ralph valued his Deaf Community family and served as a role model. He loved to travel and was an avid aviation fan. He was employed for more than ten with Delta Airlines until his illness. Left to cherish his memory are his mothers Patricia A. Cross and Brunetta Bryant, father, Ralph D. Bryant, Sr. of New Jersey and a host of committed family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday February 9, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, Va. The family extends their special appreciation to the staff of Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation (Suffolk) and the ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) Organization (Newport News) for their compassionate care for our beloved Ralph, Jr. Condolences can be made at www.altmeyer.com.
