Ray Mahlke died unexpectedly on May 29, 2016 at the age of 60, at his home in Waco, Texas.

Ray was born March 1, 1956 to Marta and Hugo Mahlke in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 1996. He graduated from Tarleton State University Central Texas in Killeen with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2002 and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems in 2004, with honors. From 2013 to 2016 Ray was an instructor of Computer Science Technology at Texas State Technical College in Waco.

Ray was dedicated to his family and work. He was passionate about music and played bass guitar both as a hobby and professionally. He loved playing music with family and friends, and working with electronics and computers. He taught his sons about music, computers and electronics, and his love for solving problems through ingenuity and craftsmanship found fulfillment in a successful teaching career. He was a loving husband and advocated for his wife’s career as an artist, always encouraging and supporting her to pursue her passion. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held in Waco at Victory Tabernacle, 2220 Airbase Road, on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 4:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Drive Corpus Christi, TX 78412 Phone (361) 992-9411, on Monday, June 6 at 1:30 pm.
