Karen E. Murphy, age 55, of Marshall passed away Friday May 27, 2016. She was born on November 2, 1960 in Marshall, a daughter of Ernest and Mary Helen (Goodman) Smith. Karen graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1978. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, singing karaoke and dancing. Karen loved reading, writing, going for walks, and spending time with family and friends. Karen was a big #24 NASCAR fan, and was a member of the Marshall Women of the Moose, #202. Surviving Karen are her father, Ernie (Nancy) Smith of Marshall; sons, Cristopher Wallace, Casey Wallace, Chase Wallace, all of Marshall; grandchildren, Emma, Elizabeth, Makaiyla, and Maddox; sisters, Cathy Smith, Brenda Smith; brothers, Johnnie B. Smith , Ernie Smith Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Helen Smith.
A graveside service will take place at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall.
