Robert Clarence Cummins, 76 of Chipley, FL passed from this life on June 2, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born on September 27, 1939 in Fayette County, Illinois to Orin Gussie Cummins and Mary Estella Salmons. He was a resident of Chipley for the past 22 years, coming from Decatur, Illinois. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a lifelong Cubs fan, enjoyed playing cards, and especially loved spending time with his family. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Orin and Mary Estella Cummins; brother: Orin Gussie Cummins Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sharon Cummins of Chipley, Florida; two sons: Robert Keith Cummins and wife Sherryl of Chipley, Florida, Anthony Wayne Cummins of Palentine, Illinois; two daughters: Marsha Kay Spracklen and husband Michael of Chipley, Florida, Vicki Renee Mars of Decatur, Illinois; sister: Mary Elizabeth Swarms of Decatur, Illinois; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at First Free Will Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida with Rev. Ben Hill and Rev. Donnie Hussey officiating. Interment will follow in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Chipley. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
