He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Signal Corps for 31 months in England and France.
He worked as a carpentry contractor and with his wife as the proprietor of the Good News Gift Shop.
He delivered Meals on Wheels in Beverly Hills.
He was an old-fashioned wood craftsman and friends have mementos of his work.
He was a member of the Baptist Church of Perry, New York, from 1945 to 1979, where he served as deacon, trustee and head usher for many years. He became a charter member in 1979 of the First Baptist Church of Beverly Hills.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Marie Hyers DeCamp, who died May 30, 1995, and a sister, Doris Crane.
Survivors include two sons, Lee DeCamp of Ocala and Darwin DeCamp of Pine Ridge; a daughter, Nancy Coburn, Trenton; a sister, Marian McKelvey, Toms River, New Jersey; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may send memorial donations to their favorite charity. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
