Abraham was a miller, working with his brother Nathan and his father Abraham at his father's mill in Litchfield County, Connecticut.

In the late 1780s Abraham and his brother Nathan left Connecticut and moved to upstate New York, settling outside of Penn Yan, Yates County, New York. Abraham brought the mill stone from his father's mill in Litchfield County to Penn Yan.

At Penn Yan Abraham, Jr. was a follower of Jemima Wilkinson, the Universal Friend who was a self-proclaimed prophetess and a former member of the Quaker Sect.

Abraham later left the group and settled in Burford Township, Brant County, Ontario, where he died in the late 1790s.
