Edna Jean Carpenter passed away in East Tawas, Michigan on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at the age of 85.

Jean is predeceased by her husband, Claude, her daughter, Julia Jo Hunt and brothers Howard, George Edward, and Robert.

She is lovingly remembered by her four sisters: Eleanor Silverthorn (Lincoln, MI), Evelyn Maslauskas (Berkley Springs, West Virginia), Annagail Burgess (Whittemore, MI), and Monafae Rozanek (Lincoln, MI); three daughters: Gwynne Jennings (David) Pinckney, MI; Connie Newby (Lee) Riverdale, MI; and Cheryl Osborn (Veral), Clio, MI; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was born in Gustin Township, Alcona Co., Michigan on December 18, 1930, and graduated from Oscoda High School in 1950. She built odometers for General Motors/AC Spark Plug in Flint, Michigan for almost 30 years.

Over the course of her life, she enjoyed sewing, bowling, dancing, golfing, seeing a sentimental movie, reading a good book, helping on the Phish hotline, playing cards, gardening, a home-cooked meal, and most of all, time with family.

The visitation will be held at Buresh Funeral Home, 416 Whittemore St, Tawas City, MI on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.
The service of remembrance will be held at Buresh Funeral Home, 416 Whittemore St., Tawas City, MI at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Tawas City, immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Matt Irish or Rachel Fee for their total house fire loss. Condolences for the family may be offered online at www.burseshfuneralhomes.com.
