Richard F. James, 80, passed away from cancer on Aug. 5, 2011, with family members at his side, in Oklahoma City. Richard was born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on Feb. 15, 1931 to Fay and Redah James. He proudly served his country in the Army and Naval Reserves. He had worked as a machinist until his retirement in 1980, then began his second career of working in the OKC school system. He served as an Elder and Deacon for many years at his church home, Christ's Christian Church. Richard married Sue Huggins in Nov. 1950 and renewed their vows of 50 years in 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue, and grandson, Matthew, of the home; daughters, Pamela Bernstein and Linda (James) Mauldin and spouse Larry; son, Russell James and spouse Carol; son, Robin Huggins; grandchildren: Scott and Kristy Kangas; Christopher and Jeremy Shock; Jacen James; Shane, Larry (J.R.), Dara Mauldin; Jeffrey, Dillon, Angie James; Melissa, Jason and Matthew Huggins. Survived by sister, Barbara Gollier of WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jeanne, Shirley, Pat and Joy of WI; sons, Richard Kangas of MI and Gary James of IL. Survived by 22 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Richard's life and love will be held Monday, Aug. 8th, at 11:00 am, at Christ's Christian Church, 2800 S. Portland Ave, OKC. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
