RICHARD J. GOHR

Richard J. Gohr, age 64, of 134 Samz Road, Mishicot, died unexpectedly on
Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, as the result of a hunting accident. He was born
Dec. 28, 1944, in Two Rivers, to the late Joseph and Grace Reynolds Gohr
and has been a lifelong area resident. Richard was a 1965 graduate of the
Mishicot High School. He served in the United States Army for four and a
half years in Germany. Richard married the former Donna Koller on May 6,
1972, in Manitowoc. He formerly worked for the Mishicot Co-op and was
currently working as a truck driver for Sanimax in Green Bay. He was an
avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting. Richard was a member of the Mishicot
Sportsman's Club where he served as President and was on the Board of
Directors. He was also a member of the Manitowoc Fish and Game Association
and served on their Board of Directors. He belonged to the Larrabee
Sportsmans Club and the WI Bow Hunters Association.
He is survived by his wife Donna, of 37 years; one son and daughter-in-law;
three sisters; his father-in-law and mother-in-law (private). He is further
survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law (private); and by his
nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death
by one son Steven Gohr on Feb. 5, 1999, a brother-in-law, Robert DeMeyer; one
niece, Sarah Koller; and by one nephew Tim Noyd.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wedneday, Oct. 7, 2009,
at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, with the Reverend Paul Paider
officiating. Burial will take place in the Mishicot Public Cemetery with
graveside military rites accorded by the Mishicot VFW Kempen-Staudinger-Terens
Post No. 7753. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday,
(TONIGHT) at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot. Visitation will
continue after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, until the
time of service at 11 a.m.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
