Lorraine M. Gorzlanzyk, age 82, of 416 Park Lane, Mishicot, died unexpectedly
Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 2005 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2005 at
Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. The Rev. Paul Paider will officiate,
with burial to follow in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Mishicot.
Lorraine was born Oct. 31, 1922 in Mishicot, a daughter of the late Max and
Clara (Zeddies) Reinke, and has been a lifelong area resident. She attended
school in Mishicot, and was a graduate of Mishicot High School with the class
of 1941. On July 22, 1944, she married Bernard Gorzlanzyk at Holy Cross Catholic
Church in Mishicot, and he preceded her in death Jan. 11, 1981. Together the
couple owned and operated Gorzy's Bar in Mishicot for many years until 1963.
Lorraine was also employed at the Otto Schultz Elementary School in Mishicot,
where she worked as a teacher's aide for many years, retiring in 1997. She
also enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo and bowling.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Carol Gorzlanzyk of Manitowoc
and fiance, Marvin Spatchek; Jean and Roger Manowski, Weston, Wis.; two sons and
a daughter-in-law: Mark Gorzlanzyk of Wayside and special friend, Helen Quandt;
Dale and Debbie Gorzlanzyk, Mishicot; three grandchildren: Jacob Gorzlanzyk;
Melissa Gorzlanzyk and fiance, Jason Wagner; and Theresa (Rayon) Edwards; and
two great-grandchildren: Keaton and Reanna Edwards. She is further survived by
a sister-in-law: Marion Pribyl, Mishicot; many nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son:
David Gorzlanzyk on Feb. 22, 1993; two brothers: Lester and Melvin Reinke; and
one sister: Violet Kornely.
Friends may call at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, Mishicot, from 4 until 7
p.m. Thursday, (TONIGHT). Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday
morning after 10 a.m. until leaving for Holy Cross Catholic Church at 10:45 a.m.
