Funeral services for Margaret Lee Holman 78 of Locust Grove, OK, were held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church of Locust Grove, OK. Rev. W. Allen Buck Jr. officiated and burial followed in the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove under the direction of Key Funeral Home of Locust Grove, OK.
Mrs. Holman was born on July 6, 1928, in Shidler, OK. She died on October 28, 2006, in Locust Grove, OK. The daughter of Henry Vaughn Cook & Rosie L. (Scroggins) Cook, she grew up in Locust Grove and graduated from high school in 1946. On October 2 of that same year she was united in marriage to Mr. J.W. "Dub" Holman in Oswego, KS. She was a lifelong resident of Locust Grove. Her hobbies included fishing, watching sports, especially N.B.A., and golf, poker and was an avid bingo player. She was a former member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Locust Grove.
Survivors include: two sons, Mike Holman & wife Peggy of Locust Grove, OK, and Jesse Holman Jr. & wife Linda of Locust Grove, OK; one daughter-In-Law, Becky Holman of Broken Arrow, OK; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Maxine Swafford of Locust Grove, OK.
She was preceded n death by her parents; her husband, "Dub"; one son, Gene Holman; one grandson, Marty Palmer; two granddaughters, Allysa Holman and Courtney Guynn; one brother and sister-in-Law, Jack and Lorene Cook; one brother-in-Law, Carl Swafford.
