John Terhune Morgan is the son of George Franklin Morgan and Mary Anna (Terhune) Morgan.

He was the husband of May (Stamps) Morgan.

MORGAN, John Terhune, 230 Argyle Circle, died yesterday 3:20 p.m. in a local hospital.

Survivors, wife, Mrs. May Stamps Morgan; daughter, Mrs. Alston Paden Green, Gadsden; grandchildren, John Alton Green, Jerry I. Burnett, Dorothy May Burnett, John Terhune Burnett, all of Gadsden; sisters, Mrs. D.B. Simon, Rockmart, Ga., Mrs. B.J. Fisher, Utica, N.Y.; brothers, R.A. Morgan, Atlanta, Frank Morgan, Charlotte, N.C.; three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at Collier-Butler Chapel tomorrow 2 p.m. with Dr. O.B. Sansbury officiating. Burial Forrest Cemetery.

Active pallbearers: Raymond Hoffman, Donald Levi, Bill Byrd, Dr. John B. Bass, George King, Merlin Hagedorn, John Hagedorn, A.L. Dickson, Everett Lay, Sam B. Pollock.

Honorary pallbearers: Directors of Sate National Bank, members of Board of Stewards of First United Methodist Church, Dr. Scott Vance, employees of Stamps & Company, and all personal friends.

Mr. Morgan was a native of Rockmart, Ga. and a resident of Gadsden since 1914. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Board of Stewards, a former member of the Gadsden Water Board, past president of Rotary Club and of the State National Bank, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 236 F & AM, a Shriner and was awarded the 50 year Gold Award Membership in 1970. Mr. Morgan formerly owned and operated Stamps and Company.

The body will remain at Collier-Butler Parlors through the hour of service. The family requests no flowers; in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First United Methodist Memorial Building Fund.
