There are very few records for Josephine. The Tarrant County courthouse burned on 29 March 1876 destroying all of the first 25 years of county records; the 1860 census for Tarrant County has gone missing and the 1870 census missed many, including the W. D. Connor family and the children of Abe Harris.
Daughter Anna Mae's death certificate places her parents in Brown County in 1878 and son Claude's places them there in 1882. They appear on the 1880 census in Cooke County where Hezekiah is indexed as Sherkiah Massior. Hez is 28 and Josie is 19 with a 2 year old Belle.
Only family rumors places Josephine's death in Indian Territory between Claude's birth in 1882 and Hez's second marriage in 1889.
