Nannie Byrd Hopper West, 86, of Mammoth Springs, formerly of Blytheville, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas.

Born to Edgar and Callie (Jones) Hopper in Blytheville, Nannie retired from Hays Grocery Store as their bookkeeper and was the past owner of West Grocery Store. She was a former member of Clearlake Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist Church. She was currently a member of Union Hill Community Church in Mammoth Springs. Nannie loved spending time gardening, canning, making quilts, and sewing. She was a wonderful cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Wayne "Fritz" West; her parents; grandson, Wesley Pope; great-grandson, Zachary Lynn Conley; brothers, Buford, T.C., Lawrence, and Edgar Hopper; and sisters, Louise Phillips, Lillian Anderson, Elma Hall, Lucille Davidson, and Marie Barber.

Nannie leaves her children, Charlene Handley and husband Gene of Blytheville, Randall W. West and wife Vicki of Bella Vista, Arkansans, Carolyn West of Mammoth Springs, Lou Anna Stalcup and husband David of Mammoth Springs, and Marsha Pope and husband Louis of Dunn, North Carolina; brother, Hugh Hopper of Marietta, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Coy Camp and Bro. David Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
