EDITH I. KASTEN
Mrs. Dewey Kasten, 78, of Rt. 1, Mishicot, died unexpectedly Monday
evening at Two Rivers Community Hospital, Two Rivers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Town of Gibson. The Rev. Percy Damrow will officiate
with burial in Mishicot Public Cemetery.
Mrs. Kasten, nee Edith Burt, was born Dec. 2, 1898, in the Town of
Gibson, daughter of the late Frank and Esther Walsworth Burt. She was
married to Dewey Kasten Nov. 27, 1923, at St. John E.L.C. She was a
member of the church and Ladies Bible Class.
Survivors include her husband, a son and daughter-in-law, Everett and
Joanne Kasten, of Rt. 1, Mishicot; a daughter, Mrs. Esther Cherney, of
Manitowoc; three brothers, Lloyd, of Marshfield, Norman, of Mishicot and
Harold of Manitowoc, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Two sisters, Mrs. Henry Kasten and Mrs. Robert Bresemer, and a son-in-law,
Victor Cherney, preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, after 3 p.m.
Wednesday and at the church after 9 a.m. Thursday until the time
of service. Memorials may be made to St. John Grade School.
