Samuel Alfred Kennedy was born November 14, 1867 on the farm of his parents Thomas Walker Kennedy and Margaret Truesdale in Poland Township, Mahoning County, Ohio. An 1887 graduate of Geneva College, during 1899 Samuel was an engineer and General Manager of the Iroquois Iron and Steel Company in Chicago, Illinois, resigning in 1912. During 1923 he went to Salt Lake City to consult on the construction of a plant for Columbia Steel Corporation. He decided to move there. He served on Water District Board of Salt Lake City from its creation in Oct 1935 until his death on Jul 28, 1953. During World War II member of Selective Service Board and State Board of Appeals. Director of First Security Bank of Utah and the Alta Club, Salt Lake country Club, and Union League of Chicago. Member of the United Presbyterian Church. Samuel had married Elizabeth Patterson Warner in 1895 and had 3 children.
