She was born September 2, 1923 in Bethel Twp., to Arthur and Nora (Stump) Cavett. She married Herbert K. Hoelscher on June 8, 1942 in Kahoka, MO.
She is survived by three sons, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert K. Hoelscher; three brothers and one sister.
Ruth attended school in Colchester, IL and received her high school diploma from Burlington High school in 1965.
Ruth enjoyed her family, friends, and church friends. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting and bowling.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Emotions Anonymous, Singles Women Club and United Methodist Woman's meetings.
Ruth was employed by Hemp's in Macomb, Campbell Chain in West Burlington, Iowa Ordnance Plant in Middletown, Sweetheart Bakery, Sylvania and Elm View Nursing Home in Burlington.
Ruth was a loving mother and will be missed by all who knew her. She was a very faithful servant of God and always there to lend a helping hand. Her constant assurance of faith became her strength for others.
A memorial service for her was held on Wednesday, August 25th at Lunning Chapel in Burlington with Rev. Trevor Davis officiating.
Cremation rights have been accorded and a memorial has been established.
