CLEMENTS, HAL H. JR. --Age 80, of Powell, died Friday, February 15, 1991 at Fort Sanders Park West Medical Center. Inactive member of First Presbyterian Church, Knoxville. Preceded in death by wife, Madelyn, in 1990. Survivors: Hal F. S. Clements, Attorney, Chattanooga, Bill of Powell; brother, Captain Dan C. Clements, USN (Ret.), Deer Lodge, Tenn.; granddaughters, Karen and Stephanie Clements, Chattanooga. Attended public schools of Knoxville. Graduate of the University of Tennessee and UT Law School, 1935. Law clerk for Fed District Court, Nashville. He then practiced law with father, H. H. Clements Sr., US Air Force during WWII in a base support role, achieving rank of Major. Twice elected District Attorney in 1944 and 1960. Prominent, vocal and respected in the political life of the Republican Party in East Tennessee. The body as at Mann's Heritage Chapel where friends may call at their convenience through Sunday, Feb. 17, 1991. Interment will be private Monday, Feb. 18, 1991 at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial contributions be made to Bachman Home, Cleveland, Tenn.
