Obituary for William Bidwell
William B. Bidwell of Fort Collins, son of Lorne and Ona Bidwell of Wellman, Iowa, died on Dec. 4, at Poudre Valley Hospital after a brief illness. He was 85. After serving in World War II, Bill received a Navy Unit Citation for having served on the LST #485. He retired from Moorman's Feed Manufacturing Company out of Quincy, Illinois, and the Chittenden and Eastman Company of Burlington, Iowa. He and his family moved to Colorado in 1966. Bill was a Mason for over 50 years. Most recently he was a member of Collins Lodge #19 and Fidelity Lodge #192. He was also a member of White Shrine #13 Galilee and El Jebel Shrine. Bill's life revolved around his family. He is survived by his three children, Jolynn Lauer of Santa Rosa, Calif., Susan Spight of Hamden, Conn., and William Keith Bidwell of Aurora; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, ten nieces, and nephews and their families. Preceding Bill in death are his parents; his wife, Jean Bidwell; his brothers and sisters, Shirley Forsyth, Donald Bidwell, Charlotte Slockett, and Robert Bidwell. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The Masonic Lodge will be conducting a service.
