F.H. Armstrong Dies Suddenly at Daytona, Fla.

Frank H. Armstrong, president of Reid, Murdoch & Co., one of Chicago's best known business men and golf enthusiasts, died suddenly yesterday at Daytona, Fla. Word was received by the family last night. Mr. Armstrong left Chicago a week ago for a vacation.

Mr. Armstrong's home was in Evanston. He was born in Wayne County, O., July 27, 1853. He came to Chicago in 1872, and secured employment with Reid, Murdoch & Fischer.

In 1909 Mr. Armstrong was made vice president. He was elected president in 1914.

Mr. Armstrong was a director of the Merchants Loan and Trust company and City National bank of Evanston. He was on the Presbyterian and Evanston hospital boards, was a trustee of Cornell college, a governing member of the Art Institute, and belonged to the Chicago Commercial Presbyterian Evanston Country and Glen View clubs.

A widow and two sons survive.
