Lane Arthur Vitt of Potosi, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday, December 19, 1980, the son of Lloyd and Martha (O'Brien) Vitt. Lane departed this life on Friday, June 9, 2006 having reached the age of twenty-five years, five months and twenty-one days.

Lane is survived by his mother and father, Martha and Lloyd Vitt of Potosi, Missouri; four sisters, Lisa Sharpe of Festus, Missouri, Lori Schulte of Wichita, Kansas, Lynn Truax and husband Robert of Dittmer, Missouri, Leigh Roland of Hillsboro, Missouri; grandfather, Arthur O'Brien of Union, Missouri; aunt, Barbara and husband, Lester Van Leer of Beaufort, Missouri; uncle, Keith O'Brien of Union, Missouri; five nieces, five nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Lane loved fishing as a small child and throughout his life. He also enjoyed his many hunting trips especially with his mother and dad. A favorite pastime of Lane's was flint napping, which is making arrowheads and knives. He enjoyed playing his fiddle and listening to different types of music. Lane spent time working on his computer, playing games and communicating with his friends. He could spend hours watching the Discovery Channel and hunting shows on television. Lane loved to spend time with his family, especially when he got to play video games with his nephews.

Visitation was held Monday, June 12, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, June 13, 2006 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Jerry Compton officiating.

Burial took place in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Washington, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Keith O'Brien, Robert Traux, Darryl Suhr, Zachary Suhr, Nicholas Suhr and Elijah Suhr.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
