May 13, 1957 - Alvord, Texas - Funeral services for MINNIE LEE GROOM wife of JOSEPH FARRLL (JOE) LEITNER April 21, 1893 - May 10, 1957 Mrs. Joe Leitner, 64, passed away last night in a Wichita Falls, Texas, hospital. She had been in failing health for several years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon (May 12, 1957) at the Alvord Methodist Church with Rev. J. N. (Sn ?spelling) officiating, assisted by Rev. Grayson Glass. Interment in the Alvord Cemetery was in charge of ( ? spelling) Funeral Home. NOTE: Unable to read parts of this line on obituray. Minnie Lee Groom was born in Hubbard City, Texas, April 21, 1893. She joined the Methodist Church at an early age and in 1934 she came to Alvord church by certificate. She was a former member of the Eastern Star at Elgectra, Texas, and was active in that organization until her health failed. She was a loving wife and devoted mother. Survivors besides her husband include a daughter, Alice Isabel Leitner-Holbrook of Electra, two stepsons, John Franklin Leitner of Alvord and Joseph Clyde Leitner of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and two sisters. This obituary was sent to Alice Leitner-Lorick by Joseph Farrell Leitner in 1957. After Alice died in 1960, her grandson, Robert F. Lorck, Sr, found this obituray in her personal belongs.
