Allen J. Desprez, 73, of Portland died October 30 in Grand Rapids. He was born in St. Johns on October 9, 1917, the son of Frank and Anna Doyle Desprez.
He as a veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post No. 4090 and American Legion Post No. 129, both in Portland. He was employed as a milkman in the Portland, St. Johns, Lansing areas for many years and also worked for B & W Auto Supply of Portland.
Surviving are his wife Elsie; a son, Jack Desprez of St. Johns; a daughter, Rosalie Moore of Lake Odessa; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Gaylord Desprez of St. Johns; and a sister, Rozella Hyde, also of St. Johns.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Neller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stanley Finkbeiner of Portland United Methodist Church officiating.
Graveside services will be held in South Bingham Cemetery, St. Johns.
Pallbearers will be Kurt Balderson, Michael Moore, Steven Desprez, Paul Desprez, Bill Nielsen, and John Tannery.
