Funeral services for Paul Allen, 79, were held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Stillmore with Rev. Muriel Bell presiding and Rev. Sheldon Pritchard serving as the eulogist. Interment was in the Stillmore City Cemetery, and repast was held in the social hall of First Baptist Church. He died June 11, 2016 at the Fox Glove Health/Rehab Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Paul Allen was born in Emanuel County on December 10, 1936 to Mr. and Mrs. Alque Allen, Sr. He joined First Baptist Church at an early age. He served in the United States Army and later moved to Syracuse, N.Y. Allen worked and retired from General Motors. After his retirement, he moved to Atlanta, where he lived until his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray Allen and Alque Allen, Jr.; and four sisters, Daisy Perry, Myrtice Henderson, Nellie Connor and Annie Brantley.

Survivors include six brothers, Charlie Allen and James Allen, both of Syracuse, N.Y., Larry Allen and Delton Allen, both of Atlanta, William Allen of Metter and John “Boo” Allen of Stone Mountain; four sisters, Mary George and Barbara Wilkins, both of Metter, Willie Mae Spann of Norma, N.J. and Vera Ali of Atlanta; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were friends of the family.
