Edward Brar Braren Jr, 64, of Morganton, North Carolina died unexpectedly Monday, June 13, 2016. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 8, 1951 and was the son of Aline Braren and the late Edward Braren Sr. He graduated from the Florida School for the Deaf in St. Augustine, Florida in 1971 and graduated with an Associate’s Degree from St. Petersburg Junior College in General Business. Edward retired from the Department of the Interior’s National Park Service as an Engineering Draftsman after nearly 33 years of work. He was a faithful member of Morganton First Baptist Deaf Mission and was involved in community mission activities. He was a skilled carpenter and was always helping others. Edward will be missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Linda; step-son, Ben (Elizabeth) Tan; and three grandchildren, Annabel, Alexa, and David. He is also survived by his son, Neal Braren; and two siblings, Christopher Braren and Theresa Braren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church. The funeral will follow in the church at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Lineberger officiating.
