Mrs. Elizabeth Lambert, 78, widow of the late Joseph Lambert, retired
town of Gibson farmer, died Friday night at the Municipal hospital at
Two Rivers following a major operation, Wednesday. She was brought to
the hospital Tuesday from her home at Mishicot.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed, pending word from a son,
Jess, who is now en route to Mishicot following a visit with relatives
in California.
The body is at the Specht funeral home at Mishicot where it may be viewed
from Sunday evening. Funeral services will be held at the Holy Cross
Catholic Church, Mishicot, where Mrs. Lambert was an active member.
Born Elizabeth Cretton in the town of Gibson Nov. 22, 1869, the deceased
was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Justin Cretton. She was married
to Joseph Lambert in 1892 and the couple farmed on the Lambert homestead,
route 1, Mishicot, until eight years ago when they retired and moved to
the village. Mr. Lambert died in 1943.
Mrs. Lambert was active socially and in the affairs of the Holy Cross
congregation where she was a member of the Altar society.
Surviving are five sons, Arnold of route 1 Kewaunee, Walter of Kingsbidge,
George on the home farm and Edward and Jess of Mishicot; two daughters, Miss
Rose Lambert of Mishicot and Mrs. Julia Gerlach of Bolt, 14 grandchildren
and one sister, Mrs. Fred Grimm of Los Angeles.
Mrs. Lambert also leaves a granddaughter, (private), whom she reared
from a child of three years.
