FULCHER, Geraldine (Rice) - Of Davison, age 85, died Tuesday, February 6, 1996 at Genesys Convalescent Center, Grand Blanc. A memorial service will be held 7PM Friday, February 9, at the Allen-Raysin Funeral Home, Davison, with visitation from 5-7PM. The daughter of Howard ("Ben") and Mabel Rice, "Gerry" was born and spent her entire life in Davison. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George L. Fulcher, originally of Gladwin. Mrs. Fulcher was active in the workforce throughout most of her adult life, at the AC Spark Plug facility during the World War II years, and later as Secretary of the Superintendent C. J. Thomson of the Davison Community Schools for 15 years. With her husband, she later co-founded Fulcher's Davison Insurance, an independent local agency which would eventually become the Fulcher Companies, Inc., under the stewardship of son, David H. Fulcher. Mrs. Fulcher is survived by son, David and daughter-in-law, Susan; grandchildren, Elizabeth Fulcher, Stacy and husband Daniel Sternbergh, Daniel and wife Jean E. Fulcher; great-grandchildren, Sophie Sternbergh and Graham Fulcher; brother-in-law, Robert Bennett (sister, Jean deceased), nephew, Richard Bennett; great-nieces, Lisa Bennett, Vanessa Bennett and great-nephew, Robert Bennett. "LET EVENING COME" Let the light of the late afternoon shine through chinks in the barn, moving up the bales as the sun moves down Let the cricket take up chafing as a woman takes up her needles and her yard. Let evening come. Let dew collect on the hoe abandoned in long grass. Let the stars appear and the moon disclose her silver horn. Let the fox go back to its sandy den. Let the wind die down. Let the shed go black inside. Let evening come. To the bottle in the ditch, to the scoop in the oats, to air in the lung. Let evening come. Let it come as it will, and don't be afraid. God does not leave us comfortless, so let evening come. Jane Kenyon-author
