Here are the sources that I have to verify that my edit to change John Jacob Cornelius Efird's mother from Eliza E. Furr to Eliza Ann White is accurate. First, if you look at his father Solomon Efird's memorial, you will see that he was married three times. His first wife was Eliza E. Furr. They were married in 1829. She died circa 1837. Their last child was Malinda Caroline Efird, born in 1836. Solomon married Eliza Ann White circa 1839. Their first child was John Jacob Cornelius Efird, who was born in 1840. So Eliza E. Furr could not have been John's mother because she had already died when he was born and his father had remarried to Eliza Ann White a year before then.

If you open the link to the "1821-1846 Court of Pleas and Quarter Minutes" and go to where it says "p.448" in the upper left corner, under "Guardianships", you will see Solomon Eaford (Efird) as the Guardian of his three children with Eliza E. Furr. There are only three children, Sidney L., James P. (Irenus P.), and Malinda. I'm not quite sure what this is about since the children are the orphans of Solomon Eaford and he is also their Guardian. There are no dates to go with the record but it might be when Eliza E. Furr died and Solomon was legally made their Guardian. I don't know. But Sidney, Irenus, and Malinda were the children of Solomon Efird and Eliza E. Furr. I'm sure that if John Jacob Cornelius Efird had been one of their children, his name would have been there also.

For my other source, I have attached a digital copy of the book "The History and Genealogy of the Efird Family" by Judge Oscar Ogburn Efird. The information about Solomon Efird and his family starts on page 453. His wives and when he married them are on the same page. On page 455, Solomon, his wives, and their children are listed. You can see that it says that Solomon and Eliza E. Furr had only four children, an infant daughter (Martha Magdalena) who died in infancy, Sidney, Irenus, and Melinda. Solomon's first child with Eliza Ann White was John Jacob Cornelius Efird. Judge Efird has a source for this information at the bottom of the page. On page 500 it also says that Eliza Ann White was John Jacob Cornelius Efird's mother.
