Richard L. Smith, age 58, a Manitowoc resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 8, 2016 at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Richard was born on February 26, 1958 in Manitowoc, son of the late Richard T. and Jeanine (Olson) Smith. He was a graduate of Reedsville High School with the class of 1976. He served in the U.S. Army and retired after 20 years of honorable service. Richard worked as a video game technician for arcade games for many years. After that he was employed at the Manitowoc Wal-Mart. He loved sports, especially bowling, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. In his pass time he enjoyed renovating projects and woodworking.
Survivors include his twin brother and sister-in-law: Paul and Wendy Smith, Manitowoc; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Katherine and Mike Keil, Kellnersville, Lori Herchell, Medford, and Wendy and Donald Reed, WA; and a family friend: Steve Conrad, Manitowoc. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Scott and Steve Smith.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Revs. Kim Henning and Colie Bettivia. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
