Roy W. Malfroid, age 69, of 3804 Bellevue Place, Two Rivers, died peacefully Wednesday morning, June 15, 2016 at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village.
Roy was born in Algoma on March 23, 1947, son of the late Eli and Ruth (Engelbert) Malfroid. He graduated from Casco High School in 1965, and served with the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. He was stationed in both Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Schweinfurt, Germany. On August 24, 1968 he married Janet Bruening at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kewaunee. Roy retired from Eck Industries of Manitowoc in 2009, after over 40 years of service. In his spare time, Roy enjoyed woodworking, working on his cars, keeping his house and yard nice and neat, going out for breakfast, going for rides, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Janet Malfroid; two daughters, Connie (Kurt) Funk and Tammy Phillips (special friend, Brian Miller), all of Two Rivers; his grandchildren: Austin and Megan Funk, Derek Phillips, and Eden Miller; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Bruening of Kewaunee; and two sisters: Janet Anschutz (fiance, John Rank) of Rockwood, Joanne Malfroid of Two Rivers. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Jeanie Lukes of Neenah, Joanne (Jeff) Hagen of Kentucky; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Elmer Bruening; a brother-in-law, Gary Anschutz; one niece and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
