Note: Their son Matthew McCurdy was Killed In Action in the Third Battle of Winchester in Virginia. Known in Army records by the spelling Mathew Macurdy, he enlisted on Aug. 11, 1862, age 24, as a Private in Company H, 14th NH Infantry. He was later promoted to a 5th Sergeant. After the battle, he was buried in a mass grave with other soldiers of the 14th NH Infantry.
Note: No stone can be found bearing Daniel McCurdy's name, though several unreadable stones do exist.
