Bob Abner was born July 2, 1934 in Springfield, Illinois and departed this life Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at The Terrace Nursing & Rehab in Berea, being 79 years of age. He was the son of the late Gilbert & Mae (Thompson) Abner.

Bob is survived by his wife, Pearl (Cupp) Abner of Annville and by two children, Robbie Abner & his wife Tonia of Kerby Knob and Penny Marcum & her husband Darron of Sand Gap. He is also survived by three sisters, Viola Hacker of Michigan, Mamie Baker of Ohio and Lena Rose Coffey of McKee. Bob was blessed with five grandchildren, Bradley Marlow, Natosha Muncie, Mikayla Marcum, Molly Marcum & Trevor Abner; two great grandchildren, Cadience & Brady Muncie and a step granddaughter, Miranda Anglin.

In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by two daughters, Bernadine Marlow and Christine Abner and by the following brothers and sisters, Herman, Lee, Marcus, Walter & Zethel Abner and Myrtle Ingram.

Besides spending time with his family, Bob also loved coon hunting, gardening and mowing his yard. He was a member of the Egypt Baptist Church.

Funeral service was held 2:00PM Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Gabbard officiating. Burial followed in the Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Kinnakhey, Ed, Kendall & Marty Coffey, Brandon Muncie, Ronnie McQueen, Jeff Baldwin & Anthony Cupp. Honorary pallbearers were Darren Marcum, Hershell Hacker, Duke, Billy Ray, Donnie, Ronnie, Wayne, Gary & Terry McQueen.
