She married Clarence “Joe” Abare on August 8, 1943.
Norma retired as a supervisor at the Malone Dress Factory several years ago. She continued to do expert seamstress following retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, NASCAR, gardening and canning vegetables and especially sewing and making quilts for family and friends.
Survivors include one brother and his wife, one sister, one sister in law and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her, her husband Joe, on October 28, 2006, her parents, two sons and a daughter in law, Charles and Gail Abare in an automobile accident on their wedding day in 1967 and by her son Robert Abare in 2012. Three brothers, Emerson, Joseph, and John “Jake” LaPlante, and three sisters, Monica Guerin, Barbara Smith and Laura Duquette, also predeceased her.
