HARLINGEN -- Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Childress, who died in San Antonio July 1, were held at the Thompson Mortuary chapel here at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Reverend Otey of the Church of Christ officiated at the services.
Mrs. Childress, who was born August 21, 1899, in Alabama, is survived by three daughters, Aline and Frances Harrell of Eastland and Ruth Evelyn Childress; by her mother and father, Mr. & Mrs. J.R. Grimes of Harlingen, two brothers and four sisters, Claudice Grimes, Mrs. C.G. Veale of Ranger, Texas, Mrs. E.O. Anglin of Harlingen and Mrs. W.H. Hollon of San Benito, Texas.
